Impact's Rebellion Event Officially Cancelled
As the ongoing global pandemic continues to sweep the world, Impact Wrestling management have sadly been forced to either postpone or cancel a number of their events, including the upcoming Rebellion pay-per-view event, which was slated for 19 April in New York City.
In addition to Rebellion, the company has also postponed their events coming up this weekend - the return of Lockdown on 28 March in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and March Breakdown the following day in Belleville, Michigan.
Furthermore, Against All Odds on 17 April in Toronto, and a set of television tapings in Columbus, Ohio on 24 and 25 April have also been cancelled, as has their WrestleCon event. TNA: There's No Place Like Home - set for 3 April has also been pulled following the cancellation of all WrestleCon-related events.
The company issued the following statement via their official website on the evening of Tuesday, 24 March;
"As a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, Impact Wrestling will not be hosting “Against All Odds” on April 17th in Toronto, the April 19th “Rebellion” pay-per-view event at New York City’s Terminal 5 and the April 24th & 25th TV tapings in Columbus, Ohio. We are monitoring the situation closely and are looking at alternative ways that we can produce the events. All tickets will be fully refunded from point of purchase. The safety of our fans, talent and staff is of utmost importance and we will continue to adjust plans as necessary while still delivering as much Impact Wrestling as possible."
No word yet on what this means for Impact Wrestling going forward as it pertains to their weekly shows. However, they do thankfully have shows taped up to the originally scheduled Rebellion event. What occurs after that remains to be seen.
